I was just six years old when the family sitcom, Happy Days, premiered on ABC in 1974. The show was centered around the Cunningham family and friends living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1950's. The Cunningham's live an idealized American family life befriended by the almost superhuman greaser, Fonzie who was the definition of the word "cool" with his trademark thumbs up.
This show had a ten year run, coincidentally ending when I graduated from high school in 1984. So I can quite literally say that I grew up watching this wonderfully delightful comedy. The main hero of the show (and my life at the time) was Arthur Fonzarelli (played by Henry Winkler) affectionately known as the Fonz or Fonzie.
I had the pleasure of actually meeting three of the actors from the show on March 30, 2008 at an antique auto show in Spokane Washington. They were Henry Winkler (Fonzie), Don Most (Ralph Malth) and Cindy Williams (Shirley Feeney, who I had a major schoolboy crush on). They were quite down to earth people and we talked for a short time and I got an autograph from Henry Winkler.
So if you get a chance to pick up the Happy Days series on DVD, I can guarantee you will have a great time watching.

All I know about Happy Days is what I've seen in the Weezer music video... does that make me young?
