Just lent my copies of Dark Angel seasons 1-2 to a friend. This reminded me of how much I enjoyed the short-lived series about a genetically enhanced super-soldier of Maticore after the USA is thrown back to 3rd world status following a huge EMP shock wave that takes out most of our advanced technology.

It was a shame that they cancelled this show... prematurely in my opinion as it had a great story line with fun and interesting characters.

Jessica Ala played Max, a inhumanly fast and powerful young woman hiding from Manticore while trying to live a normal life and being insanely cute.

I also enjoyed her in Honey, Sin City and the Fantastic Four movie.

As I have watched her mature over the years, I have noticed that she has an uncanny knack to hold onto her sense of fun and energy while becoming immersed in the characters she portrays.

I give the Dark Angel series a resounding three thumbs up, (Hey, where did that extra thumb come from?) and would say that it is recommend viewing for any sci-fi buff.

HEAR! HEAR!

I could not agree more with this opinion (about the show at least, Fantastic Four was a travesty). I'm not a Jessica Alba fan, but I was quite surprised by her portrayal of Max in Dark Angel. Some episodes were bad, but the vast majority were excellent (especially "Boo"). Thanks for lending this to me man. That makes Firefly and now Dark Angel where you have been absolutely right (SAAB was a tossup). I'm gonna go pick up copies of my own now.

It's tragic by the way. Watching a great show, only to find out it has been canceled mid-season leaving our heroes hanging above a giant vat of radioactive material with snakes biting at their heels... its painful. But I can't stop ... watching... must... stop... can't... do it.... agh!
