In 2002 there was a short-lived but entertaining TV series on the
WB network
called Birds of Prey. It was about a group of women super heroes fighting meta-humans in New-Gotham.
Two of the team were tied into the Batman legend... Batgirl, now confined to a wheelchair, is the Oracle and leader of the group, and the Huntress, who is the daughter of Batman and Catwoman.
The entire atmosphere and story line have the look and feel of just stepping though your television into the world of comic books.
The first two episodes were shaky as they massaged characters, costumes and dialogue... but it quickly picked up and was flowing smoothly on the screen.
To date there is no DVD release of this show planned, which is a shame as it is a must for Batman collectors and comic book fans alike. I am lucky enough to have
recorded them onto DVD for my private collection
when they aired, but would love a studio release set with extras and commentary.
If you are one of the few people and are patiently awaiting its DVD release, raise your hand!

Am I the only one who is concerned when a show has its lead character a product of Batman and Catwoman? For some reason that just screams "cheese!!!!!!" to me. I never saw the show so I don't know, but thats my initial impression here.

Hey... I know where you got them, and I need them back. ;)
The Huntress is a great character. Especially since she really came from Earth-2 pre-Crisis and was a good friend on Power Girl. The Birds of Prey comic was certainly a good run so far and the mix of characters is what made it work so well.
